The Hitachi SJ300 Series drives are robust and particularly suited for constant torque and high-starting torque applications. The SJ300 series offers many features and options that make this series suitable for a wide range of applications. Features include:

For closed loop control applications, the SJ300 series includes features that make them unique for AC adjustable speed inverters:

• Available in 230 V models from 1/2 to 30 horsepower (hp) and in 480 V models from 1 to 30 hp.
  (NOTE: Higher horsepower units (40 /50/ 60 hp) are available as special order (non-stock) items).
  
  
• Can be configured for volts/ hertz, sensorless vector, or closed-loop vector control (option module required for closed loop mode)
  
  
• Controlled stop at power loss provides orderly shutdown of equipment
  
  
• Two-motor tuning and control in the sensorless vector control mode handles high-torque, multi-motor applications
  
  
• The fan on/ off control feature, the ability to turn the cooling fans off when the drive is not in the run mode, extends fan life and the overall life of the drive itself. Automatic fan control is selectable via a setup parameter in the drive.
  
  
• The modular construction of the SJ300 drive allows replacement of the fans, control terminal strip, power bus capacitors, and/ or the conduit plate for drive maintenance in less than 10 minutes. The removable control terminal strip also facilitates drive replacement without rewiring.
  
  
• Incoming power phase loss detection prevents excessive drive overloading
  
  
• Storage for three motors' constants facilitates its use in applications such as crane control and machine tool pick-and-place control.
  
  
• The dual acceleration feature allows the drive, through a programmed parameter, to change its acceleration rate at a selected frequency setpoint, useful for controlling large loads which benefit from slower startup acceleration.
