  • Ethernet Remote Master Modules (H4-ERM and H4-ERM-F)
The Ethernet Remote Master H4-ERM(-F) connects 430, 440 and 450 CPU systems to slave I/O over a high-speed Ethernet link. Each ERM module can support up to 16 additional H2-EBC systems, 16 Terminator I/O EBC systems, or 16 fully expanded H4-EBC systems. Of course, combinations are fine, too.

    Ethernet remote I/O kits
We've added these Ethernet remote I/O kits to make it easier for you to set up remote I/O via Ethernet. These kits contain parts that are already offered separately, but we've combined them in kits to make it simpler to order the remote I/O product configurations you need.

    • T14-ERKIT-x
Ethernet Remote I/O Kit, includes (1) H4-ERM plus "x" number of T1H-EBCs by adding -1, -2, etc as the part number suffix.
Ethernet Remote I/O for a 10Base-T Ethernet network at 10 Megabaud, cable not included. H4-ERM must be installed in a local base, with a D2-240, D2-250(-1), D2-260 or H2-WPLCx-xx in the CPU slot. Ethernet cable connects to T1H-EBCs directly or via Ethernet hub(s).

  • Ethernet Base Controllers (H4-EBC, H4-EBC-F, T1H-EBC and T1H-EBC100)
The H4-EBC and H4-EBC-F Ethernet Base Controller modules provide a high performance, low-cost Ethernet link between your PC-based control system or H4-ERM Ethernet remote I/O system and DL405 I/O. The H4-EBC module supports industry standard 10Base-T Ethernet communications, and the H4-EBC-F module supports 10Base-FL (fiber optic) Ethernet standards. Both modules offer 10 Mbps transfer rates between your PC application and your DL405 I/O base. The T1H-EBC100 module supports TCP/ IP, UDP/ IP, IPX and the MODBUS TCP/IP application layer protocol at 100 Mbps maximum.

    T1H-EBC as H*-ERM slave
The T1H-EBC module provides a low-cost Ethernet link between Terminator I/O and your WinPLC/ DL205/ DL405 CPUs using the H*-ERM module for remote I/O. T1H-EBC modules support industry standard 10BaseT Ethernet communications. When using a DirectLOGIC CPU with an ERM module as the network master, the T1H-EBC slave will provide faster analog I/O update times than the same CPU system with a T1K-RSSS slave system. The ERM/ EBC system can also support a much higher analog I/O count than the T1K-RSSS remote I/O system. The T1H-EBC supports the full lineup of Terminator I/O discrete and analog modules.

    T1H-EBC100 as H*-ERM slave
When using a DirectLOGIC CPU with an ERM module as the network master, the T1H-EBC100 slave will provide faster analog I/O update times than a DirectLOGIC CPU system with a T1K-RSSS slave system. The ERM/ EBC system can also support a much higher analog I/O count than the T1K-RSSS remote I/O system.

    EBC modules offer:
    • Lower cost on your DirectLOGIC PLC I/O system when compared to competitive I/O alternatives
    • Virtually unlimited number of I/O points
    • Deterministic I/O updates on dedicated networks
    • Fast I/O updates (less than 1 ms per base)
    • On board serial port for an operator panel or ASCII devices (serial port not supported when used with ERM module)

  • Interrupt Input Module (D4-INT)
The D4-INT is an 8-point interrupt module. This module is intended for applications that have a high-priority event that requires special operations to be performed. When this high priority event occurs, the interrupt module senses a DC level input signal. The module automatically informs the CPU to interrupt its present operation. The CPU immediately suspends its routine scan cycle and jumps to a subroutine identified with that particular interrupt input signal point. The CPU then executes the logic in the subroutine (subroutines can even use immediate I/O instructions to immediately read and write I/O points if a time-critical update is necessary). When the subroutine is complete, the CPU automatically resumes its routine scan cycle starting at the exact location where it was interrupted. The CPU continues the routine scan until another interrupt signal is sensed.

  • High-speed Counter Module (H4-CTRIO)
You can use the H4-CTRIO module with the D4-450 CPUs only. The module plugs into any I/O slot of any DirectLOGIC 405 local base and is not supported in expansion bases. The H4-CTRIO module is supported in the H4-EBC.

  • High-speed Counter Module (D4-HSC)
The DL405 high-speed counter provides high-speed up or down counting capability. It provides the user with count data and output signals such as clockwise, counter-clockwise, decelerate, and equal. The module functions asynchronously with the DL405 CPU, allowing fast response and control.

The D4-HSC module supports the following key features:
    • Quadrature or up/down encoder input
    • Maximum input pulse rate of 100 KHz (50% duty cycle)
    • Seven user control inputs
    • Four external outputs for controlling motor velocity and direction
    • Counting range from –8388608 to +8388607 with overflow
    • Counter input multiplication of X1, X2, or X4
    • User selectable count direction
    • A or B mode selection
      - A mode to reset counter at equal
      - B mode to continue counting after equal
      - B mode to continue counting after equal
    • Find "Home" mode to search home position automatically
    • Sampling count to determine pulse rate

  • PID CoProcessor (F4-16PID)
The F4-16PID is a Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) CoProcessor designed to execute up to 16 PID loops independent of the DL405 CPU. Using the high-speed Intelligent bus interface, the F4-16PID reads the process variable and writes the PID output directly into V-memory of the DL405 CPU.

  • 4-loop Temperature Controller (F4-4LTC)
The F4-4LTC combines the features of four Single Loop Temperature Controllers into one inexpensive module. The module has four asynchronous, configurable PID loops, with built-in temperature inputs and control outputs so that precision temperature control is maintained, even while the PLC is in program mode. This module can control temperatures up to ±3276.7°C/°F and accepts either thermocouple or RTD inputs.

  • Transformer (F4-CT)
The F4-CT detects the presence of current flow and is very useful in detecting heater burnout conditions. One F4-CT is included with the 4-loop Temperature Controller Module.

  • Magnetic Pulse Input (F4-8MPI)
The F4-8MPI is an eight-channel Magnetic Pulse Input CoProcessor Module. It is designed to take input pulses from Hall effect type magnetic pick-ups, (typically found on turbine meters, tachometers and signal generators), and perform calculations. Up to eight differential inputs from magnetic pickups are wired directly to the terminal block on the front of the module.

  • 8/16 Point Input Simulator (D4-16SIM)
8/16 point (selectable) input simulator module, for program development/ debug.
