Standard Screw DIN-Rail Terminal Blocks (listed by Component Type)

DINnectors (DIN-rail Terminal Blocks)

Most control panels use some sort of terminal strips or terminal blocks to connect the control wiring (PLCs, relays, contactors, etc.) to the field wiring. DINnectors are simply DIN-rail mounted connectors or terminal blocks. They provide a means of connecting and identifying two or more wires within the demands of an industrial environment. The DIN-rail is the internationally approved, industry standard mounting rail for components made by hundreds of manufacturers worldwide.

Many thanks to our customers who have made the switch to our DINnectors terminal blocks!
They’ve told us DINnectors are the same or better quality than the brand they were using, but are significantly less expensive. From skateboard manufacturing to precision machine tools, from panel shops to petrochemical plants, customers love the low price and value that our direct/ e-commerce sales channel offers.

DINnectors can terminate solid or stranded wires ranging from 18-3/0 AWG, and offer fusing, grounding or disconnecting capability within the terminal block itself. Our range of DINnectors terminal blocks is internationally approved by various national and international standards organizations such as UL, CSA, VDE, SEV, RINA and IEC. Choose from the seven types of terminal blocks as required for your system: feed-through, multi-level, mini, ground, fuse, disconnect, or direct mount.

Here are five reasons to try our DINnectors:

  • Quality materials
  • Self-locking clamps
  • High-contact pressure
  • Low voltage drop
  • Gas-tight connections

Single-level Terminal Blocks

DINnectors can terminate solid or stranded wires ranging from 18-3/0 AWG, and offer fusing, grounding or disconnecting capability within the terminal block itself. Feed-through terminal blocks are available in a number of colors and wire size options to ensure flexibility and ease of installation for your DIN-rail mounted conection system.

Double-Level Terminal Blocks

Models include:

  • Feed-through terminal blocks
Double-level terminal blocks offer twice the wiring density of feed-through blocks. The DN-D10 is a straight feed-through block. The DN-D10X version is supplied with an internal jumper to common all four of its connection points. Standard models come in a variety of colors.

  • LED terminal blocks
These terminal blocks provide built-in LED indicators. The LED illuminates when voltage is present. The LED1 version is for 24 VAC/ VDC circuits, and includes current-limiting elements.

  • Diode terminal blocks
Typically, an inductive load produces a spike (neg.-going) when it is turned off. These terminal blocks with built-in clamping diodes help protect the output circuits of your PLCs. The circuit below shows the normal voltages to the load (during on state).

Triple-level Terminal Blocks

Our triple-level terminal blocks enable either high-density wiring or simplified, low-cost sensor wiring. There are four types, with and without LED.
These terminal blocks offer an extremely compact 5 mm thick design.

  • DN-TL14 - Connects three separate circuits in only 5 mm of linear DIN-rail space

  • DN-TL14S - Standard sensor terminal block, allows you to wire one terminal block per sensor, vs. the traditional method, which requires three different single-level blocks per sensor.

  • DN-TL14SLP and DN-TL14SLN models provide LED indication at the terminal block when voltage is present.

Mini Terminal Blocks

Mini terminal blocks are used in areas with extremely limited space requirements, and mount on the smaller DIN-rail type DNR15S1.

Ground Terminal Blocks

Ground terminal blocks are used to mechanically and electrically connect wires to the DIN-rail by means of a conducting clamping foot. In this way, the DIN-rail can function as a ground bus bar. Ground blocks are molded in green and yellow per international standards.

NOTE: The use of an end bracket is not required when a ground block is positioned at the end of a terminal block assembly.

Fuse Terminal Blocks

  • DN-FM6 series
These 600 V, 30 A DIN-rail mountable fuse blocks are available with a long lasting neon indicator light for quick troubleshooting. The permanently attached pivoting fuse door simplifies and speeds fuse replacement without using tools. The IP-20 rated fuse blocks also offer lockout/tagout compliance, via the lockable extraction door, to meet OSHA requirements. Midget fuses are supplemental fuses and are not rated for current limiting applications. They do not have rejection tips. They are white in color. Class CC fuses are current limiting fuses with rejection tips on the bottoms to prevent them from being used in holders not rated similarly.

  • DN-F6 and DN-F10 series
Fuse blocks are available for 1/4", 5 mm, and Class CC size fuses, either with or without a blown fuse LED. LED fuse blocks are polarity sensitive. The modular design allows additional poles to be added in the field using a pin-assembly kit.

Disconnect Terminal Blocks

The DN-DIS10 and the DN-KBD12 allow fast circuit disconnection without rewiring.

  • The DN-DIS10 is supplied with a copper disconnect bar installed in the fuse holder.

  • The DN-KBD12 offers circuit disconnection capability by means of a pivoting, insulated “knife blade”.

Direct Mount Terminal Blocks

Direct mount terminal blocks are a low cost alternative to modular terminal blocks. Direct mount terminal blocks do not require the use of a DIN-rail to mount. By utilizing two mounting screws, they can be mounted to any backplane. They are supplied with or without wire protectors and can easily be cut to length with ordinary hand tools. Wire protectors are metallic strips that physically isolate the conductor from the terminal screw. The protectors prevent softer conductors from getting cut or nicked.

Rails and Brackets

Various accessories are provided to support the DINnector product line. Available rails and support brackets include:

  • DIN Mounting rail (required)
Allows multiple blocks to be mounted to a panel by means of a few fixing screws. DIN-rails provide easy installation and removal of terminal blocks, and may also be used as a ground bus bar. Rails meet international standards and are supplied in slotted zinc-dichromated steel, in 3’3" (1 m) lengths.

    • 35mm wide
These quality DIN-rails are provided in one-meter lengths and two heights, 7.5 mm and 15 mm. The 7.5 mm-high rails are primarily used to mount terminal blocks, relays, timers and smaller PLCs such as the DL05, DL105 and DL205. The 15 mm-high rails are for mounting larger and heavier components such as contactors and larger PLCs.

    • 15mm wide
The one-meter-long type DN-R15S1 DIN-rail is used exclusively for mounting mini terminal blocks such as the DNM10.

  • Angled support bracket
DN-ASB1 zinc-dichromate plated steel angled support brackets raise and tilt mounting rails for easier wiring.

End Brackets

End brackets are required to add rigidity to a terminal block assembly and to prevent sliding along the rail. One polyamide end bracket should be mounted at each end of an assembly. End brackets attach directly to the DIN rail by means of a clamping foot and can accept marking tags to serve as a group marker.

  • The DN-EB15 is the end bracket designed to mount on the 15 mm DIN-rail

  • The DN-EB35 is the end bracket designed to mount on the 35 mm DIN-rail

End Covers

End covers are required to provide electrical insulation for the exposed metal components of the last terminal block in an assembly. Interlocking pins secure the polyamide end cover to the terminal block while allowing easy insertion and removal. When the size of blocks change in an assembly, an end cover is also required to insulate the open side of the block.

Top Covers

Certain VDE regulations require the use of terminal block top covers. The transparent polycarbonate covers are printed with a warning arrow and the international danger symbol, allowing the marking tag area and jumpers to remain visible after installation.

Separators

Separators are used to electrically or visually separate groups of terminal blocks, or to electrically insulate adjacent internal jumpers. Separators project beyond the terminal block on all sides. They are made of polyamide.

Marking Tags and Accessories

Marking tags provide circuit organization and identification. Tags are available either blank or preprinted from 1-1000 in 5 mm and 6 mm widths.
A variety of marking tags and accessories are available. Available items include:

  • DN-MTA - Marking tag adapter. Holds up to six DN-LT tags

  • DN-MP - Indelible black ink marking pen

  • DN-LAT - Fits terminal block types: Triple level
Material: Thermoplastic with heat embossed black print

    Notes:
    1. The marking sequence (i.e. 1-100) is printed five times in each package of 500 tags.

Jumpers

Jumpers are used to electrically interconnect two or more consecutive terminal blocks, without reducing the wiring capacity of the blocks. Jumpers are available in two, three, four and longer pole configurations, and are supplied with screws and washers. Jumpers are made of electrolytic copper with a corrosion-resistant nickel plating. When installed, they are recessed in the terminal block molding to reduce the risk of accidental shock.

Test Plugs

Test plugs are used for hands-free circuit troubleshooting and testing, the test plugs are inserted into the tapped hole of the terminal block current bar. These plug-in style devices cannot be used when jumpers are installed. Plug diameter is 2.8 mm.

Wiring Tools

Tools provided to help you install and maintain your connection systems include:

  • Screwdrivers
Our ergonomically designed, insulated slot head and Phillips screwdrivers are made from high quality heat-treated chrome vanadium steel with a black oxide coating on the tips for maximum corrosion protection.

  • Wire cutter/ stripping tool
If you want to improve the speed, precision, and quality of your PLC or DINnectors wiring jobs, you’ll want to order at least one of these self-adjusting wire cutter/stripping tools!
